Join Barbara Widhalm PhD * May 1, 2021How can the values informing the Biodanza system guide us during this time of transition and reopening? What does it mean for Biodanza practitioners/facilitators to protect and care for life right now? What insights can the biocentric principle and vital unconscious offer during this time of collective inquiry for the Biodanza community? What positive and negative ecofactors we have encountered last year are influencing us going forward as we explore new possibilities? How might the value systems Biodanza draws from guide us as we dialog about controversial topics, such as safety guidelines, reconnecting through touch, and how the experimental vaccine technologies may impact any of these considerations? I am inviting us to a collective inquiry during this emergent time, held in the cradle of a short vivencial experience at the beginning and closing of our gathering. I will offer some of my own perspectives, drawing on several converging journeys I have been on as a lover of life: my own learning journey as a professor of living systems theory, transformative change, and human values; my journey as a Biodanza practitioner and facilitator; my journey as a mother and fellow living being on this planet, and my personal learning journey in health research and as a social change activist. I will integrate my personal insights and emergent questions through the principles of living systems, which I consider a beautiful frame to give expression to the biocentric values that guide my life. Guided by the principles of living systems, I’d like to then invite a generative conversation (in large and small group spaces) to explore new co-creative possibilities together! This event builds on the LIB 2 Biocentric Research Lab presentation exploring positive and negative ecofactors during this time (“Biodanza as a Microbiome to Generate Positive Ecofactors”), which was hosted in July 2020. The FacilitatorBarbara Widhalm, Ph.D. Austria/USA In addition to teaching Biodanza, Barbara is a full-time college professor, teaching a wide variety of courses on systems thinking, living systems awareness, social and environmental justice, and transformative change, from the community college to the doctoral level. Over the last 15 years, Barbara has developed a framework for teaching living systems awareness to help participants not only understand but also fully experience learning communities AS vibrant ecosystems.
