A Path for Empowerment & Social InclusionSaturday Sep 11 at 5pm GMT+1 with Giovanna Benatti, a School Director from Italy To get the link please email [email protected] Thank you The Applied Biodanza protocol for this clinical area was created in Vicenza (Italy) in 1998, thanks to the collaboration between a group of psychiatrists and psychotherapists and the Biodanza School of Vicenza. Since the beginning, this team has been working in synergy and with a multidisciplinar approach, with the common goal of using Biodanza with a socially-engaged and therapeutic approach. One of their interests is to explore the ways in which Biodanza can help develop their capacity for self-expression, their social intelligence and their relational skills, e.g. learning to co-create mutually satisfying relationships. From its very start the Biodanza method has been a powerful tool both in socially disadvantaged environments (disabilities, mental illness) and in projects aimed at preventing disadvantage and empowering people (Biodanza projects in school and in local neighbourhoods, always in partnership with the local authorities). After 15 years and numerous clinical projects, a collaboration with the University of Padua has begun with the aim of certifying the results achieved in the existential rehabilitation of people through clinical Biodanza. This research was published in 2016 (Elisabetta Ghedin - Steps towards a flourishing life). The Socially-Engaged and Clinical Biodanza International Forum has been running in Vicenza since 2010. It offers a space for continuous learning about "Happiness as a Social Value" and a fertile meeting point between health workers and the institutions. It is now in its 9th edition with Giovanna Benatti as its scientific director. The desire behind these dialogues is to disseminate the possibilities of Biodanza as a social tool for the inclusion and enhancement of all people. Giovanna is the creator and the scientific director of this Forum, now in its ninth edition. She also works in partnership with the Gaja Centre European project for active citizenship and is a member of the academic research team "Outcomes in Clinical Biodanza" (University of Padua) Giovanna Benati
